Unlike the GMC Hummer, which is clearly designed as a luxurious adventure vehicle, Chevy wants the electric Silverado to be used more like a traditional pickup truck. The automaker promises that retail and fleet versions “will offer customers a variety of options.” GM didn’t provide any details about when it will fully announce the Silverado electric pickup. The GMC Hummer EV Pickup won’t enter production until Fall 2021, so it could be a while before we see the Silverado.
“The vehicles coming from Factory ZERO will change the world, and how the world views electric vehicles,” said Reuss. “The GMC Hummer EV SUV joins its stablemate in the realm of true supertrucks, and Chevrolet will take everything Chevy’s loyal truck buyers love about Silverado, and more, and put it into an electric pickup that will delight retail and commercial customers alike.”
