Ken Block’s ELECTRIKHANA: High Stakes Playground; Las Vegas

The Hoonigan Media Device is back at it, and this time HHIC Ken Block is back again at the wheel. When they created it sound like the Gymkhana franchise was getting handed more than to Travis Pastrana, it’s clear that there is still some petrol remaining in Block’s tank. Only this time, there is only electricity, as Kenny from the Block (sorry) is hooning an EV, a great deal like Vaughn Gittin Jr. did final 12 months. Block is now an Audi guy (which is conveniently apparent in at any time scene) and the hottest movie is centered in Las Vegas. It begins with Block unplugging his new Audi S1 HOONITRON, an all-electrical tire shredder.

The 800 volt, bi-motor, AWD Hoonitron departs silently with just some tire noise and a sinister whirring audio. I do miss the cracks and pops of the EcoBoost rally autos and the fireplace respiratory Hoonicorn and Hoonitruck. A garage exit is rapidly adopted up by some sideways motion all around the Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Oddly enough, all of the inside cameras look grainy, or potentially like there is a thing on the lens. It is an uncharacteristically very poor watch, pretty much seems like they were being from one of Block’s rally cars and trucks and not on a significant-spending plan gymkhana movie.

Nonetheless, there are some excellent glamour pictures of the Las Vegas strip with the tire-using tobacco Hoonitron sliding all around.

Oh and there are a good deal of Audis.

I believe my favorite little bit is when he does literal donuts in the foyer of a casino.

Unfortunately there is not a ton of variety, it is generally just drifts and donuts. At one particular level Block circles around a boxing ring on prime of a parking garage whacking heavy baggage.

But that’s about it. There is not considerably of a feeling of threat, it all feels quite controlled and protected. Which tends to make sense, it possibly was. Block isn’t getting any younger, so I visualize a lot of this is orchestrated to maintain the substantial franchise operator in very good wellbeing. I just didn’t have that perception of excitement and by no means cringed with pleasure as he arrived shut to an impediment. Regardless, it is a enjoyment way to expend nine-minutes and 35 seconds nevertheless, so I advise a look at.

OH proper, the movie. Here you go, allow us know in the comments what you believed:
