Hollywood A-lister Michael Fassbender will contest the 2020 European Le Mans Sequence (ELMS) Porsche 911 RSR fielded by the Proton Levels of competition race crew, Porsche declared Friday. He joins the likes of Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Patrick Dempsey — yet another Porsche racer — in the ranks of Hollywood-actors-turned-hot-footwear.

“Even ahead of I commenced performing, I had a big desire to go racing. It was very clear to me at a young age. My father was an avid driver and he taught me a large amount,” Fassbender claimed in Porsche’s announcement. 

Fassbender has been functioning for quite a few yrs towards his final purpose of racing in the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans. His first style of expert-stage competition arrived in succession of entries in several Ferrari Challenge sequence in 2017 and 2018 powering the wheel of a Ferrari 488 Challenge.

Fassbender portrays Magneto in the hottest incarnations of the “X-Adult men” motion picture franchise and performed the title purpose in 2015’s “Steve Work,” for which he acquired an Academy Award nomination for finest actor he was also nominated for finest supporting actor for his portrayal of Edwin Epps in 2013’s “12 Many years a Slave.”
