To test the engineering, Toyota has crafted a Sienna minivan prototype designed for autonomous journey-hailing. Dubbed the Toyota S-AM (Sienna Autono-MaaS), the self-driving hybrid prototype will be unleashed on to the streets of Pittsburgh and Dallas as aspect of a test program about the following six months before growing into other US towns. At first, about a dozen Sienna prototypes will be employed to test Aurora’s self-driving computer software and sensors at the moment in enhancement.
“We are combining the deep experience of Toyota’s engineering and analysis teams with our know-how in securely creating a robust autonomous program to build a cozy, easy and safe journey experience,” Aurora wrote in a weblog article.
