Renault’s new Alpine racing division will enter the WEC and compete at Le Mans

PARIS — Renault’s new sports activities division Alpine will enter the 2021 Globe Endurance Championship, a collection whose jewel in the crown is the Le Mans 24 Hours, the brand’s basic supervisor said on Monday.

Decline-creating Renault’s new main govt, Luca de Meo, sees Alpine as central to the carmaker’s recovery and this month introduced Renault’s Components 1 crew will be rebranded as Alpine subsequent year.

The car will be crafted around an Oreca chassis and Gibson motor in the LMP1 class, said Alpine basic supervisor Patrick Marinoff.

One set of hypercar rules proposed for Le Mans, Daytona, IMHA, WEC
